Vikings on bikes

In the middle of all the Scars exhibition stuff, just a quick note of a couple of nice uses of my pics in the TES (Times Educational Supplement as was) over the past couple of weeks.  The main one was in today’s paper, where I’d been commissioned to photograph school children in York riding into the city dressed as Vikings as part of the city’s car-free day.  It was a truly miserable day to shoot pics on (and probably not a lot of fun to be riding around on a bike with a sword and your lunch box), but the pic’s been used in the centre spread, really nice and big:

And a couple of weeks ago a portrait from Sheffield (Ian McNeilly, director of the National Association for the Teaching of English) was used really nicely in the magazine too.  The Winter Gardens and those big silver balls are on their way to becoming a bit of a visual cliche for Sheffield, but the fact is, they look great…
