Haiti in print
Safely arrived in Port au Prince, and getting as much work done as possible before the anniversary of the earthquake on Wednesday in case there’s disturbances that make working hard. Two significant things today:
The Sunday Mirror have run a big feature on Majorie, a very early Tearfund beneficiary, who I met in March and July last year. She was buried in her house after the earthquake, and went into early labour (she was eight months pregnant), giving birth to a son. Here’s the feature and link:
Secondly, we’ve launched the ‘Favourite Things’ project. When I was here in July, we gave cameras to fifty young people in a couple of schools that Tearfund had been involved in helping restart (one of which featured in the TES article that I mentioned earlier). The pupils were asked to take pictures of their favourite things, and I’ve selected my favourites, and posted them to a Flickr gallery here:
