Travel Photographer of the Year awards on BBC

On June 16 I’m participating in a conference at Lancaster University on ‘Travel, Writing, and the Ethics of Observation.’  It’s being organised by the Centre for Transcultural Writing and Research who I produced the ‘Regarding War’ body of work for a couple of years ago.  I’ll post more details here once the conference is formally announced on their website, but to start my own thinking I’ve been looking at the recently announced ‘Travel Photographer of the Year’ awards, which has a rather nicely put together audio slideshow on the BBC website – certainly, some of the things I’m interested in exploring at the conference are raised by this piece (and there’s some very beautiful and wonderful images here).
