Haiti: Beyond the Rubble exhibition – 12

In the countryside the housing was generally lighter in construction, as here – the tin roof is much less dangerous than a concrete one.  However, there was still significant damage to housing, and injuries and deaths even out in the rural areas of the Lowlands and Highlands south of Leogane.  Although obviously not safe for habitation, this house was still being used for storage and shelter during the day.
