Haiti: Beyond the Rubble exhibition – 40

Lorgena Innocent was living in a shack in Tom Gato with her sister. Both their houses had collapsed during the earthquake and they were left with nothing but a few bed sheets and some corrugated iron by way of shelter.

They have now both received quake- and hurricane-resistant shelters.

Lorgena also received a solar light from charity Tough Stuff, which has meant that for the first time in her life, she hasn’t had to save what little money she has to buy fuel for lamps.

‘I feel safe. I can see in my new house.’
