‘Twenty’ part 25 :: Nicaragua, 2000

Twenty‘ is an occasional series marking the first twenty years of my work as a professional photographer.

On my final ‘staff’ trip with Tearfund, in early 2000, I visited Nicaragua and Honduras, two places I’d always wanted to go.  We were reporting on the rebuilding that had been done in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch in 1999, visiting various Tearfund partners, including the Salvation Army. I don’t have the details of these locations to hand, but if I find them, I’ll update this post. Amongst the work, I managed to see the Honduran equivalent of the FA cup final, which was a fairly dull game, decided in extra-time, but enlivened by the bounciest stadium I’ve ever been in – a lot of concrete to move quite like that…
