Zilliqa

Description
Zilliqa is a new public blockchain platform for high-throughput applications. It is tailored towards enabling high-throughput decentralized apps, meeting the scaling requirements of applications such as digital marketing and payment.
Problem
It solves the scalability issue via sharding and provides increasing transaction rate as the network expands. The latest experiments demonstrate >200 times higher throughput than that of today's popular blockchains.
Token Use
The tokens on the Zilliqa platform are called “Zillings” or ZILs for short. The ZILs only give platform usage rights to the holders in terms of using it to pay for running dApps or smart contracts.
